A Women’s Chorus Honors the Victims of the Mass Shooting in Orlando

June 21, 2016

View a video and listen to the choral music of Vox Femina Los Angeles as the group honors the memory of each victim of the mass shooting at the LGBTQ club in Orlando, Florida, June 12, 2016.  The chorus sings “Born This Way,” a song of joyful self-acceptance.  The group had just performed this song honoring the LGBTQ community at their final concert of the season, “Vox Rocks,” on Saturday June 11, the night before the mass shooting occurred in Orlando.

Vox Femina is a women’s choral ensemble in Los Angeles. Here is part of the description the group provides on its website: “Diverse in culture, age, race, belief and sexual identity, we are a chorus committed to commissioning new works and raising awareness about issues that affect us as a family of women. Through music, we aim to create a world that affirms the worth and dignity of every person.”
