Are men projecting their feelings of sexual shame onto women?

This post by Emma Lindsay asks an interesting question. Are women’s feelings of shame about the way we look actually a projection of male sexual shame?

“Women are a lot better about expressing their emotions, and are usually willing to tell me how they feel about me. Men won’t tell me how they feel because they are taught to be ashamed of their feelings (and, by the way, lust is a feeling.)”

I’ll let you know that there is a good bit of profanity in this piece, but I think it’s a worthy read for expressing a viewpoint I hadn’t heard expressed quite this well before.
