Women and the Early Church

May 21, 2015

Christians who pay attention to the biblical witness are already aware of the essential roles and contributions of the earliest Christian women. They first proclaimed the resurrected Jesus and served in core church leadership roles, but we may not be as familiar with the numerous characters and contributions of women in the post apostolic church.

Todays link offers a refresher on (or crash introduction to) some of the earliest women pastors, leaders, and legends in early Christianity. It was penned by Dr. Catherine Kroeger, formerly of Hamilton College, and was featured in Issue 17 of the Christian History Institute’s quarterly publication.
