Janene Cates Putman grew up the daughter of a Southern Baptist pastor. After 20 years of raising kids and failing miserably to measure up to the Proverbs 31 woman, she stepped out of the conservative box and into who God created her to be. Enrolling in Bible college in her 40s, she began to rewrite her life. She now lives her dream writing about faith and feminism on the little slice of heaven in the east Tennessee mountains she shares with her Hot Husband.
"As Neril and Dee see it, the Bible is a powerful tool to integrate spirituality and ethics with environmental science. The Bible has shaped literature, history, and culture more than any other writing."
With a history dating from 1973, we are an international organization of women and men who believe that the Bible supports the equality of the sexes. We are Christian feminists. We are inclusive. We welcome you.
. . . taking the humanity of the Bible seriously in no way undercuts it message, nor should it result in fear that the Bible will lose its power or meaning if we recognize that people wrote it in specific times and places with specific points of view. Of course. But, this has been and continues to be the dividing line among contemporary Christians.
